The Membership Town Hall Meeting will be held Saturday, January 16 at 1:00 p.m. at the temple. Members are encouraged to attend this important
gathering to discuss BTSA membership.
The BTSA Board of Directors decided at its October meeting to cease uploading minutes of and reports from its regular meetings onto the website. The board felt that much in the minutes and reports is not for general public consumption to anyone who can access the site. A set of monthly minutes and reports will be available in a convenient binder at the temple to all interested members. Only the minutes and reports of the annual general meeting will be posted on the website.
The BTSA is providing a one day information fair for the general public about funerals, estate planning, personal directives, writing a will and other matters concerning end of life issues
July 18 at the Galt Gardens at 6:30 p.m., with dancing beginning at 7
p.m. Dance practices are on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the temple. This
year's festivities will include the sale of Japanese food - sushi,
manju, sembei and kori (sno-cones), craft items, as well as children's
activities and a taiko demonstration. All who attend, children and
adults are invited to join the circle of dancers and fully participate
in the festivities. The annual BTSA Obon services will be held the
following day, July 19, with the cemetery service at Mountview
Cemetery at 1 p.m. and the temple service at 2:30 p.m. Lunch will
follow. Obon is a time to remember and honor all those who have died
before us, to express gratitude for all that they have done for us,
and to recognize the continuation of their influence upon our lives.
